Shawn Hays has been successfully showing
in NRCHA competition since 2005, when he debuted at the Circle
Y Derby and won the Limited Open. Since then, he has made
the finals at every major event held by the NRCHA, including
Champion or Reserve Champion Intermediate Open at the Stallion
Stakes, Hackamore Classic, and the Derby.
In 2007 he was Reserve Champion World’s Greatest Horseman. In 2010, Shawn won
three out of five major bridle events, never placed lower than 5th and earned
a grand total of $70,000. The streak included winning the Holy Cow Bridle Spectacular,
Reserve Champion World’s Richest Horseman, Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Bridle Champion,
AQHA World Champion Senior Working Cowhorse, and 5th at the 2011 World’s Greatest
Horseman.
In only six years, Shawn has accumulated over $300,000 in lifetime earnings in
reined cowhorse events.
EquiPride and EquiLix plays a major role in Shawn's training and breeding program. He
is based in Nocona, Texas, where he resides with his wife, Tammy Jo, and sons,
Bryce and Hunter and conducts a very successful training operation for reined
cowhorses. |
