Madden’s, an old line resort on beautiful Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minnesota has traditionally used Belgian horses to pull guest wagons. Three generations of the Madden family have run the resort since its creation. Family member Ben Thuringer, tells us that their largest Belgian, “Dan”, had completely foundered in January of 2005. Around that same time they heard about SweetPro’s EquiPride and decided to try it on Dan over the Winter. Since starting they’ve been thrilled with EquiPride’s performance and Ben says, “ Dan has completely recovered from his founder problem. Additionally he is now able to wear shoes for the first time in his life!”

Ben goes on to say they put another of their Belgians, “Big Daddy”, on EquiPride as well. Big Daddy is 26 years old. He was very thin and had no hair on his right side. Since being on EquiPride he has started to put on weight and his hair coat has grown out nicely. The folks at Madden's Resort are very happy with the results they’ve seen with their draft horses. Currently the horses get EquiPride in their rations and SweetPro’s EquiLix50 in the pasture.
